If you are in Istanbul, Turkey app can not find location using location finder. Manual entry is only zip code based, so you can not add your location if you are in Turkey. After you remove the app, in System Preferences->Security&Preferences->Privacy->Location Services the app remains. You have to remove it via Terminal by editing clients.plist under /var/db/locationd..

Weathervane needs a fix to the menu bar. The menu bar displays the incorrect weather. The drop down weather is correct within the dialog box. It has also crashed when I first used it. Please fix and Ill update my review. Weathervane has a lot of potential to be a good miniture weather app. Since I did the last firmware update on my Macbook Air Weathervane is now working better. The Weather for my area is now correct. It still needs some improvement. I noticed that a window pops up in the background and then disappears when the app is launched. Please fix this and Ill update my review.

I wrote a fairly negative review of this apps last version on June 16th. The timing might be a cooincidence but only five days later, my complaints have been addressed. Whether the dev was already working on this update or not when I reviewed, the update was quick and makes this my favorite weather app. Nice work, Collin! Will recommend to others.

I like the app for its simple display in the menu bar. Id like to see a little more data like radar and pressure/humidity data, but so far I really appreciate it!

I left my MBA running unattended for a few hours and came back to it to find the fan roaring. A check of Activity Monitor revealed that Weathervane was eating up more than 300% of the CPU, which needless to say, seemed a bit excessive. I am no longer running the app but I will keep my eyes open for a fix, as its small and neat and pretty much what Im looking for in a menubar weather widget.
